Chaos damage is one of the five damage types. It is the rarest damage type and the hardest to get resistance against. Chaos damage bypasses energy shield, reducing life or mana directly. Although chaos damage reduction is based on resistance value, it is not considered elemental damage. Question Does Atziri Reflect Chaos? (Mirror One in Split Phase). For me tooltip does 95-142 chaos dmg per hit +gmp and x3 when ramped up so yeah I think you'd be dead even with positive chaos resist and 8 life per hit. That doesn't meant it cannot be reflected. (wow, so many negatives in one sentence) level 2.

Yes if you do dmg in small hits, this is why I said except few builds. Scaling it down could help, but it still makes it less superior than chaos. Adding chaos reflect is bad idea, because I still think it's lame mechanic and the idea behind chaos damage was that it can't be reflected (but until 2.1 it was much weaker damage type than phys. Did some research on Fire-Chaos Incinerate myself. There are 4 reasons to convert all your damage to chaos I know: Reflect - chaos damage can't be reflected back. Resistances - Bosses generally have their chaos resistance 2 times lower than elemental ones (45% elemental and 22% chaos for most of them). If all these perks are taken, the chaos enchantment deals significantly increased damage, dealing a total of 200% total damage. The Fire, Frost, and Storm Enchanter Perks increase the enchantment cumulatively. Along with all three perks the Dragonborn can get, which gives a +95% damage bonus. Are there any builds that don't care about reflection from monsters?
I know the totem and trap skills so far. Are there few more?
Maybe even cheap and fun builds?

When you say 'care about', do you mean 'take little damage from'? Or do you mean 'immune'?
In terms of monsters and true reflect, if you go with a fully-chaos damage build, then you are essentially immune to reflect. I say essentially because sometimes it's hard to make your damage 100% chaos..but you can. You can surely get at least 99% to be chaos based.
However, if you attack anything with tempest shield, you will take damage because the mechanics are different.
In terms of builds, there are two I can think of:
1) a Voltaxic Rift-based build, such as Mathil's, which I am currently running
2) Infernal Mantle/(whatever that dagger is that converts the rest of your fire damage to chaos damage) build

Any build can be immune to reflect, you just have to make sure that you will not oneshot yourself and that the average dps reflected is lower than your average life/es regeneration (pots, passive regen, life leech, etc..).
To achieve this goal you have many options, the best beeing a combination of high block or evasion/dodge chance with life leech and vaal pact.
An other option is to tune down your dps, or orient your damage to a single element (with conversion by example) and max out that element resistance.
I mean, it is really up to your imagination, this is just about knowing and cleverly using game mechanics.

Oh ok. Iam still new. I haven't played a lot so far.
So chaos dmg can not be reflect. Didn't know that before. So the more chaos dmg you got, the less reflects hurt ya. That's right Hu?
Bzw I mean nearly immune. Don't wanna die like a fly^^
I stopes last time cuz the death from reflect monster made me feel sad. When I fight, I can not read that monster names with affixes ^^
Thx so far mate.
Maybe can u linked me the builds? Or under what class I have to search for them?

let me be a little more clear, even though i think you get it. doing more chaos damage will help you do more damage that will STILL NOT BE REFLECTED.
if you are doing more total damage and its a combination of chaos, physical and elemental, you will still have a problem
voltaxic rift ranger guide is here: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1550827
you could start as a shadow too.
the infernal mantle/consuming dark builds are abundant it seems. here is one: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1375643
basically you can use any fire based skill with those two uniques.

also, i don't know what time period you are considering when you talk about reflect mechanics, but right now the only scenarios that you can find reflect are pretty much on rare monsters/bosses and map mods where every monster has phys or ele reflect
compared to, say, last season or two seasons ago, its a lot better since packs can't all have reflect from a reflect aura

Yea that was when I stopes probably.
I see. So a 'reflection don't hurt me' build will be very expensive :/

Molten Strike cheap = https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1580632
I've done lots of bow builds, but they are usually expensive and complicated.
Spectral throw is cheap.
Cyclone is cheap.
There are chaos damage spells now a days. The ones I've seen don't look overly expensive.

Can Chaos Dmg Be Reflected 2

Hey guys, in this guide I'll be informing you on the following topics:
- Which Bosses actually use Damage Reflect
- At what HP remaining in which the boss triggers DR
- How often and for how long each boss' DR lasts
- The amount in which these bosses actually DR for
Before we get started, I feel it's important to clarify exactly what Damage Reflect is; so here's my take on it.
Definition: Damage Reflect is a skill that certain [typically harder] bosses can use. Once they use this skill, doing damage to them by any means [unless the skill enables otherwise] will result in them taking no damage while you take a set amount of damage regardless of your hp. The amount you take varies from boss to boss ranging from 200-999,999.
Sidenote: DR is commonly suggested to be the worst boss skill of all [worst meaning hardest to deal with], followed by Seduce. To 'get around' DR, you really have to simply be aware of the animation that each boss does right before they use the skill. It's also important to study this chart to know how long each boss' DR lasts for, and at what intervals it is used.

Bosses

  • Note: The amount each boss DR's for is not always the exact numbers shown below; but are always very close to them. For example Pink Bean will sometimes DR for 35k or even 29k, but I generalised it as 30k.
  • Full DR = Damage Reflects towards both Magical & Physical attacks.
  • Phys DR = Damage Reflects only towards Physical attacks.
  • Magic DR = Damage Reflects only towards Magical attacks.

P.S I would appreciate if you guys gave this thread a thumbs up if you feel it deserves one; so that Basil can better make a decision on whether or not this can be suitable as a Guide in the Guides section.
