Brat's here, today I'd like to bring you a little guide about our favourite Russian crushing machine also known as Zarya;

Zarya is a high skill required hero, not only she requires mechanical skills for tracking, she also requires much game sense to make the bubble management very effective, but we all know this so, let's start!

ʙᴀsɪᴄ ɪɴғᴏʀᴍᴀᴛɪᴏɴ

Zarya is an off-tank hero with 400 hp, 200 of which are shield, she is a very good pick regardless which rank you play in and she can be very effective with the right team.

Her primary fire does 4,75 damage per second (0 charge) and the damage increases by percentage: when Zarya is fully charged (100) her damage will be 4,75 multiplied to the value of her charge: 4,75 × 100 = 475;

Her alternative fire works the same way, but its basic damage (0 charge) is only 45.

Zarya's energy has a decay of 1,6% per second: to make it easier, every 2 seconds she loses about 3% of her charge, therefore it is really important to learn how to rightfully manage your bubble to never put yourself in the situation to have low charge or in the situation to have no bubble available.

ʙᴜʙʙʟᴇ ᴍᴀɴᴀɢᴇᴍᴇɴᴛ

As we said before: it is important learn how to manage your bubble so that you never find yourself in a bad situation; one easy yet very effective tip for this not to happen is to never use your bubbles simultaneously!

once you've used one of your bubble, whether it was on yourself or someone else, it's always better to wait at least for the cooldown to be half expired before you use the other one:

Your personal bubble has a cooldown of 10 seconds, therefore much longer than the cooldown of your projected barrier which is only 8 seconds, you must not use your available bubble before the other bubble cooldown has reached at least the half of it!

One thing I see doing a lot, especially in lower and mid elos, by Zarya players is to often expose themselves to use their bubble and get some charge, which can be fine only in centre in moment! however doing this can put you in disadvantage in the case the next team fight starts earlier than you thought, you should never be caught off guard as Zarya!

Rather than exposing yourself, tell your main tank to start pushing more aggressively and tell them you're gonna bubble them! This will provide more space for your team, you'll gain charge and the cooldown of your projected barrier will most likely expire before you'll need it again.

ᴋɴᴏᴡ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴛᴇᴀᴍ

When you're willing to play Zarya, you should always consider what your team is going to play and how it's going to play! your team composition is the key which defines how effective your Zarya will be: if your team has many long or mid range dps, Zarya will not get much value from them, also Orisa is absolutely a horrible pick to play Zarya with, if someone wants to play Orisa, you should really consider switching hero.

Generally, the heroes Zarya can NOT be much effective with are: Orisa, Ashe, Hanzo, Junkrat, Mcree, Symmetra and Widowmaker; all the other picks are fine.

Everyone wants to combo!

I've never seen anyone in any games not willing to combo with a Graviton Surge, however you need to be aware of how effective a combo can be under certain circumstances: if you have a Tracer and a Hanzo on your team, doing a combo Graviton-DragonStrike would do an insane amount of damage, however, if the enemy team has a Zen, you should probably consider to combo with Tracer instead!

ɢʀᴀᴠɪᴛᴏɴ sᴜʀɢᴇ

Remember what I told you about knowing your team? If your team has no good valuable combos available then, don't go for a 6 men Graviton!

That's what most people do wrong, Graviton Surge is by far one if the strongest (if not the strongest) ultimate in the game, however players in low and mid elos always spare this ultimate to get that juicy 6 men Grav; but if you can't do any good combo, just get key targets:

A dps constantly pocketed by mercy is constantly destroying your team? Grav them!

A good Tank is causing your team problems and denying your push? Grav them!

Nano-Blade? Grav that weeb outta your game!

sᴘᴇᴄɪғɪᴄ ᴛɪᴘs

Here are some specific tips that will turn useful more often than you'd think:

1. You've just used one of your bubbles and there's a Dva's self destruct incoming?

Use your other bubble to body-block and protect yourself and your teammates!

2.If you know a sombra is about to EMP, use both of your bubbles right before she does!

Emp doesn't deny your bubbles, it destroys them! therefore you can get charge from it!

also the teammate you protected will not be hacked and you will not lose your 200 shield up.

3.When you see a Hog ulting, don't get too close! the knockback is to balance the damage output of his wholehog; if you use your bubble, there will be no knockback and you'll probably die.

4. Want to Grav but the enemy team has a Dva? Bait her defensive matrix by spamming your alternative fire or asking your teammate to spam damage!

5.If you get many people in your Grav: get close, spam your alternative fire and cancel its animation by doing melee attack right after! that will do more damage in less time!
